Chicken Burgers

The first recipe on the site has finally arrived!  Who likes Chicken Burgers!  This is one of my favorite easy recipes to make.  Rather than making the normal run of the mill burgers I have chosen to make my burgers with ground chicken instead of ground beef.  This recipe can also be done with ground turkey.


• 1 pound of Ground Chicken

• 2 Garlic Cloves

• 2 Tablespoons of your favorite A1 sauce

• 1/2 Teaspoon of Montreal Steak Seasoning

• 1/4 Cup of chopped spanish onions

• Large Mixing Bowl

• Garlic Press

• Chef Knife

• Spatula

OK first of all you are going to need a large mixing bowl like the one pictured.  Then place your chicken into the mixing bowl.  Now you will have to chop up your onion and add that to the mixing bowl.  Now for the garlic you can either chop up a the garlic cloves or use a garlic press.  I have a great garlic press and I use it all of the time.  So if you don’t have one and like to cook with garlic I would highly recommend one.  Now put in your 2 tablespoons of A1 sauce and the 1/2 teaspoon of Montreal Steak Seasoning.  After you have put in all of your ingredients into the mixing bowl you will need to mix them together well.

After all of the ingredients are mixed together, you can make your burger patties.  I chose to make two large 1/2 pound burgers but you could certainly make smaller burgers and get 3 to 4 burgers from this recipe.

Now it is time to fire up the grill.  Heat up your grill to medium and once it has reached temperature spray your grill with olive oil so your burgers will not stick.  Now place your chicken burgers on the grill.  They should need about 5 minutes per side.

For this recipe, I am using a gas grill, but you could also bake these burgers in your oven if you would prefer.  I would recommend cooking them at 350 degrees for approximately 20 minutes.

I put white american cheese on my burgers because I love cheese.  Feel free to place your favorite cheese on these burgers if you prefer to have a cheese burger like me.

To the right is the finished product.  Place it on a bun with all of your favorite toppings.  I put mine on sliced bread with mayo and ketchup!  It was quite good.

Char-Griller Smokin Pro – Assembly

Well yesterday was finally the day to put together the smoker, I got for Christmas!  The weather was perfect outside and it seemed like a great idea to get outside and assemble the smoker out on the back patio.  It was a nice sunny day and the temperature was just right.  One of the perks to living in Florida during the winter time.

It wasn’t to difficult to assemble the grill it took me approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes.  The hardest part was probably putting on the Side Fire Box.  The directions call for you to get out the hammer and knock out a portion of the side of the grill.  That gave me some problems.  I was a bit affraid of damaging the grill.  Overall the directions were not extremely detailed and I would imagine if they were a bit more detailed I could of finished it a little bit quicker.

Here is what the contents of the boxes looks like.  Both boxes are fairly heavy so get assistance when carrying them.

Here is what the assembled grill part looks like.  You can purchase just the grill part and use as just a normal charcoal grill.  But we want to Smoke some ribs so next up is the Side Fire Box!

Kick Off Week!

OK last week I launched the website but this week I get it Kicked Off with some articles.  This week I will put up the first recipe article onto the site and also a product review.  Plus I plan on putting together my new smoker so I will show how that goes and hopefully this weekend I will be making my first meal with my new smoker!

Maybe I will have time to throw in a Super Bowl dip or two!

Welcome to! This site has been created for all of those Average Joe’s and Jane’s out there that would like to learn to become a better cook.  I am one of those people.  I have some experience in the kitchen and on the grill but I would like to expand my knowledge of the cooking world.  Through my experiences of trying new recipes and reviewing various cooking products, I hope that everyone who comes to the site will learn something new or maybe pick up a tip or two that will add to your own cooking skills. Each week I will try a new recipe and write about my experiences with making that recipe.  My content will include how I approached certain parts of the recipe, how it all came out, and what I would do differently next time.  I also would like to break down each recipe into step by step parts to make it really simple for those that aren’t quite cooking veterans.  I will try to further illustrate each breakdown through pictures.  Furthermore, I would like to explore various forms of cooking.  From grilling, to smoking (I got a smoker for Christmas :), thanks honey), to cooking in the oven, and on the stove top.
